L. Kendrick Mills, M.D., FACC
William E. Blalock, III, MD, F.A.C.C., who is board-certified in nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular diseases, earned his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, NC. He completed internship and residency programs at Vanderbilt University, and completed fellowship training in cardiology from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
Walter L. Few, III, MD, F.A.C.C. is triple board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and internal medicine. He received a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After completing internship and residency programs at Emory University, Dr. Few completed fellowship programs in both cardiology and interventional cardiology from Emory.
T. David Gbadebo, MD, F.A.C.C, F.H.R.S., is board-certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular diseases. After receiving his medical degree from Emory University, Dr. Gbadebo completed an internship and a residency program at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed fellowship programs in cardiology from Duke Medical Center and cardiac electrophysiology from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Gbadebo is the first electrophysiologist in the region to receive the highest honor as Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is also the author of several publications.
John V. Golding, III, MD, F.A.C.C is board-certified in four specialties: interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville and completed internship and residency programs at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Golding also completed fellowship programs in cardiology and interventional cardiology at The Miriam Hospital, Brown Medical School, in Providence, RI.
Carol L. Gruver, M.D., F.A.C.C is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. She received her Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. After completing her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Connecticut, she was awarded a NIH Research Fellowship Grant in Cardiology and later an American Heart Association Beuher Cardiology Research Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Gruver completed a clinical cardiology fellowship program at Duke University and later an advanced Cardiology Imaging Fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Dr. Gruver and her spouse, Dr. Thomas Devlin, have been in medical practice in Chattanooga for the last 15 years.
J. Carter Hemphill, M.D., F.A.C.C is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. Dr. Hemphill is also board certified in nuclear cardiology and in endovascular medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. He completed residency training at both Brockton Hospital, part of Boston University Medical Center, and the University of Texas Health Science Center. He continued his training, completing his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at Scott & White, part of the Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Hemphill has a particular interest in the minimally invasive treatment of coronary heart disease and peripheral arterial disease.
Robert L. Huang, MD, F.A.C.C., MPH is a member of the American Heart Association, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and has also been published in medical journals and textbooks including the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and Hurst’s The Heart: Manual of Cardiology. He is currently board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine and is board-eligible in interventional cardiology.
Michael A. Love, MD, F.A.C.C, who is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, earned a medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He completed internship and residency programs, as well as a cardiology fellowship, at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Love serves as Administrative Director of UT Erlanger Cardiology at the Gunbarrel Road location.
Poonam Puri, M.D. , F.A.C.C earned her Medical Degree from M.P. Shah Medical College in Jamnagar, India and her residency in internal medicine from Keck School of Medicine, part of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She continued her training, completing fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine from Keck School of Medicine and in Interventional Cardiology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds board-certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Nuclear, and Internal Medicine. In addition, she is a member of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, American College of Cardiology, American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians – American Society of Internal Medicine. Prior to joining UT Erlanger Cardiology, Dr. Puri practiced with Kaiser Permanente and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in Santa Clara, California.
Kinsman “Ted” Wright, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.C. Dr. Ted Wright was born in Potsdam, New York, and received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. He received his medical degree from Boston University and continued his training at Boston University Medical Services and Duke University Medical Center. After completing his internship and residency, Dr. Wright completed his Fellowship from the Boston University Medical Center and Duke University Medical Center in Cardiology. Before coming to Chattanooga, Dr. Wright was on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Wright is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
L. Kendrick Mills, M.D., F.A.C.C, Dr. L. Kendrick Mills is the newest cardiologists to join UT Erlanger Cardiology and will be practicing at the UT Erlanger Cardiology location at Erlanger at Hutcheson. Board certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Mills earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and his residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He continued his training, completing a fellowship in cardiology at Yale School of Medicine. Prior to joining UT Erlanger Cardiology, Dr. Mills worked in a single-specialty group in Hendersonville, Tenn., practicing interventional cardiology. He specializes in inpatient procedures and also offers full range diagnostic services.
