Adam Campbell, PhD, serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Quality Officer of Erlanger. He has an extensive background of over 16 years in quality and safety, exemplary leadership skills, and a proven track record of enhancing patient experience.
As Chief of Quality and Patient Safety, Adam oversees and drives the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and performance across all aspects of Erlanger. He leads efforts in quality improvement and education, safety, data analytics, patient experience, and accreditation. He works with associates from across the health system to establish robust quality measures, develop innovative strategies for patient safety, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Prior to joining Erlanger, Adam was Director of Clinical Improvement and Analytics at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va., and Director of Clinical Policy and Analytics at Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine - Chattanooga, and an Adjunct Professor for the Haslam College of Business’s Physician Executive MBA (PEMBA) Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has also served as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Adam received his Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, his Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from East Tennessee State University, and his PhD in Cognitive and Neural Sciences from the University of South Florida. He studied at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on a post-doctoral fellowship.
