Clinical Trials
A recent diagnosis or physician’s recommendation may have prompted you to learn more about participating in a clinical trial.
A clinical trial is a research study that allows volunteers to receive treatment with a drug or device currently under research testing by a pharmaceutical or
other biotechnology company. These companies carefully select qualified physicians who serve as "investigators” to lead the study trials.
Erlanger offers many opportunities for the Chattanooga community and surrounding areas to participate in research studies. The Erlanger Institute for Clinical Research
was established to develop a single-source for information regarding the diverse clinical trials being conducted across the Erlanger Health System. This search tool
provides some basic information about what clinical trials are currently recruiting participants.
We understand choosing to participate in a clinical trial is an important personal decision. If you are considering participation in a research study, we encourage you
to talk to a physician, family members, or friends, particularly if you have specific questions or concerns. You can also visit our “For Patients” section where you will
find links to several resources on our website to help you understand clinical research better and what your role would be if you are eligible and choose to participate
in one of our trials.
Use the search fields below to review the studies currently enrolling patients. After identifying some trial options, please reach out to our research staff and they
can talk with you in more depth about the research studies you may be interested in.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have, whether you are considering current or future trials at Erlanger.
