About / Overview
Dr. Akin grew up in a small town of 5,000 residents in West Tennessee before attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then moved to Memphis to complete a master’s degree in pharmacology, followed by his medical degree, both from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Akin completed his family medicine residency in Chattanooga, where he met his spouse, Vincent. They now reside in Highland Park with their two dogs and three cats. Dr. Akin enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking in his free time.
Dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care, Dr. Akin holds a special interest in queer healthcare, including gender-affirming hormone therapy.
