Dr Berneet Kaur grew up in nearby Huntsville, Alabama. Her education and career path took her steadily west across the county – Louisiana State University for undergrad, University of Texas-Houston for medical school and neurology residency, and then a big westward jump to the University of California-Davis, where she was on the faculty in their Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center for 5 years.

Dr. Kaur moved back to this area to be closer to family when her father developed a dementia, and has been at Erlanger since 2015. Her father subsequently died from his illness in home hospice care, and his passing has profoundly changed the way she counsels patients with dementia and their caregivers, allowing her to offer more a more personalized and compassionate approach to care.
