About / Overview

Dr. Cleopatra Thurman is a board-certified vascular neurologist. She received her medical training from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing. Following this, she completed a neurology residency at Sparrow Hospital in East Lansing, in which she received an award for clinical excellence, and a vascular neurology fellowship at Trinity Health St. Mary’s – Grand Rapids.

Because stroke is the most common neurologic emergency encountered in the hospital setting, Dr. Thurman is passionate about ensuring that all stroke patients receive quality acute and long-term care. Dr. Thurman sees patients across the entire spectrum or neurologic disease; however, she has a special interest in the management of young stroke patients and bridging the gap in stroke care among underserved populations. Dr. Thurman considers it a privilege to serve the region and she strives to collaborate with patients and families to deliver patient-centered care.
