About / Overview
Dr. Jonathan Shaw is a board-certified OB/GYN and Urogynecologist with Erlanger Women’s
Health. He specializes in urogynecology, female pelvic medicine, and pelvic reconstructive
surgery.
Dr. Shaw completed his undergraduate and medical education at Queens University Belfast in
Northern Ireland. He then worked as a junior doctor in the UK's National Health Service
before coming to the United States for post-graduate training. He completed an obstetrics and
gynecology residency at Cleveland Clinic and Metrohealth Medical Center in Ohio. He went
on to complete a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery at Women &
Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, associated with Brown Medical School. He and his family
spent two years working at a mission hospital in Kenya with Samaritan's Purse before taking up
a faculty position for five years at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He
moved his family to Chattanooga for the good schools, year-round outdoor activities, and the
opportunity to work with Erlanger Women’s Health.
Outside of work, Dr. Shaw enjoys mountain biking, swimming, and spending time with his wife
and four children.
