About / Overview
Dr. Julie Koffron is Medical Director of Pancreas Cancer and Hepatobiliary Services at Erlanger. She is a fellowship-trained hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeon with over two decades of experience in pancreatic surgery and cancer care, who specializes in the open and minimally invasive resection and vascular reconstruction of the pancreas, liver, and biliary systems. This includes minimally invasive procedures, including ablation techniques for the pancreas and liver. She collaborates with all areas of the multidisciplinary team at Erlanger, creating new initiatives and continually enhancing the patient experience.
Dr. Koffron also serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center—Chattanooga. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
Dr. Koffron was born and raised in Southeast Michigan, ultimately starting her practice and later, her family there. She relocated with her husband, who is also her surgical partner, and her daughter to Chattanooga in 2020. In their free time, she enjoys traveling and planning fun adventures for her family, cooking, the outdoors, and finding great local places to eat everywhere she goes.
