About / Overview

Rachel Vedder is a dedicated nurse practitioner passionate about providing exceptional healthcare to the Chattanooga community. She earned her undergraduate nursing degree from Youngstown State University, where she also competed as a Division I swimmer. Rachel’s love for endurance sports led her to pursue Ironman and 70.3 triathlons, and over time, she found a deep passion for ultra trail running, in which she continues to compete.

Professionally, Rachel has built a robust healthcare foundation, starting as an nurse in trauma and orthopaedics while completing her master’s degree at Chamberlain University and earning board certification as a family nurse practitioner. She spent six years working as a nurse practitioner in urgent care and emergency medicine before shifting to sports medicine orthopedics in 2023. Her diverse experience enables her to offer a unique blend of medical expertise and a strong understanding of athletic performance and injury prevention.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading, running, swimming, hiking, and traveling. She’s an avid outdoor enthusiast who treasures time spent with her family, friends, and three dogs.
