About / Overview
Dr. Kahloon comes from a family of distinguished physicians. Inspired by his cardiologist father to passionately pursue medicine as a career, he finished his pre-medical education through the University of Cambridge and University of London, UK. After medical school, he initially came to the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT.
Later Dr. Kahloon joined the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for an NIH funded translational research fellowship with a focus on vascular biology, vascular inflammation, endothelial injury, angiogenesis, pulmonary hypertension, and right heart failure. He has written various peer reviewed publications on these topics. Dr. Kahloon joined the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga, for his internship and internal medicine residency. He served as the Chief Resident for Internal Medicine and graduated as the Best Graduating Resident in 2015. During the same year he was also nominated for the prestigious Dr. Harold Alper Humanitarian Award by the Department of Internal Medicine for consistently demonstrating humanistic qualities of integrity, compassion, and community service.
After his Internal Medicine training, Dr. Kahloon joined the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga, and graduated in 2018. He served as Chief Fellow for the program during the final year of his training.
He finished his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from University of Toledo Medicine and Jobst Vascular Center in Toledo, Ohio, with special focus on complex coronary interventions involving mechanical circulatory support, chronic total occlusions, and peripheral vascular interventions with critical limb ischemia.
Dr. Kahloon is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, as well as Interventional Cardiology. He is an a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology’s political action committee and strongly believes in quality improvement and advocacy for patient rights.
