Rita Bunch, MPH, FACHERita A. Bunch, MPH, FACHE
Market Chief Executive Officer, Erlanger East and North Hospitals

A proven leader with 27 years of health care experience, Rita Bunch is Market Chief Executive Officer for Erlanger East and North Hospitals. In this role, Rita leads strategic growth and development of services at both facilities, building on Erlanger’s commitment to providing high-quality care to the community.

Bunch joined Erlanger after serving for three years as President of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. During her tenure there, she successfully opened new locations, strengthened key services, and spearheaded a major restructuring of the hospital’s emergency department, significantly expanding its treatment capacity. Prior to that, Bunch was Vice President, Operations at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA. In this role, she co-chaired the hospital’s COVID operations task force, organized and led numerous community COVID vaccine clinics, and partnered with Sentara Medical Group to recruit and rebuild the orthopedic service line in Harrisonburg.

She has also served as Interim president and vice president of operations for Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton Roads, VA. Bunch earned her Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from East Tennessee State University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Chief Medical Officer for Erlanger East and Erlanger North Hospitals

Dr. Jones joined Erlanger East after working as an anesthesiologist with Anesthesiology Consultants Exchange for 29 years. Dr. Jones received her undergrad at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Ind. before attending medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine. She competed her residency for anesthesiology at the University of Alabama Birmingham. She also completed a residency in obstetrical anesthesia at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Tex. In 2011, Dr. Jones earned her physician executive master in business administration from the University of Tennessee.
