As an academic program, our specialists not only care for patients, but also teach tomorrow’s hematologists through UT Health Science Center College of Medicine — Chattanooga. We take a multi-disciplinary approach to care, working closely with radiation and medical oncologists – as well as transplant and other specialties. Conditions We Treat
Our hematologists diagnose and treat a full range of hematologic disorders. Some of the most common conditions include:
- Abnormal blood count conditions including anemia (low red blood cells), leukopenia (low white blood cells), and thrombocytopenia (low platelets)
- Bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and von Willebrand disease
- Blood clotting and coagulation disorders like deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
